
I bought a Sony Home Theatre with a Sony Bravia LCD TV just recently. The old home theatre is already broken when some of its chips was burnt last year. So it was time to get a new one.
Chan Furniture was having a road show at the CityMall two weeks ago. We went there and met one of the salesman, Terence who happens to be our neighbor. He gave quite amount of discount on the Home Theatre and TV. After a short discussion with my wife, we agreed to buy them and made the booking.
After 2 days of waiting, the items were finally delivered to us. They help us to set it up and told us that there is a cash back promotion on Sony's home theatre until 31st January 2011. We have to register online and fill the form ourself. A hologram sticker was attached to the home theatre box which contained the pin number for the online registration.
The next day, I successfully registered online for the warranty period. When i tried to register for the cash back, i encountered problem with the hologram code. It was incorrect. The online form has a fix letter "B" on the hologrom code field but the code i got begins with "T". I called Terence and told him about it. He promised to help. He came in the evening and tried helping with the registration but unsuccessful. He said he will inform his boss about it and will help me further.
The day after, he called me. He said since i have registered it online, he couldn't help me register it. He asked me to call Sony Centre for help which i did. The Sony officer were always busy. I have to wait a while to get connected to the personnel. After a few tries, i finally managed to talk to one of the personnel. I told him about the problem and he checked. He said the sticker given to me was a wrong one and i need to get a new sticker from Chan Furniture.
And so i called Terence again.. He gave 3 codes for Bravia. I tried registering for the cash back again and succesfully done so with the second code. Now i am waiting for my cash back from Sony which is around RM400 :)
